by Jeff Miller of Artisan Family of Wines (Seven Artisans, Sly Dog Cellars, Red Côte Rosé)

jeff-smEvery Wednesday I post my recommendations of the best of last week’s postings concerning wine, whether blogs or news. I list them in the order I read them, so you shouldn’t infer anything about the order in which I list these posts.

I’d never even heard of this grape, which hails from northern Greece. I’d like to get a chance to try one. But whenever anyone breaks out of the rut of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot, I think it’s worth a mention.

Suisun Valley Grape Growers Association (SVGGA) Experiences a Metamorphosis in Name

Wine Blog by Jo Diaz

http://wine-blog.org/index.php/2010/03/05/suisun-valley-grape-growers-association-svgga-experiences-a-metamorphosis-in-name/

A summary of the emergence and growth of the Suisun Valley Grape Growers Association, recently renamed the Suisun Valley Vintners and Growers Association. The post highlights both the association, and, more importantly, the development of Suisun Valley into a serious grapegrowing/winemaking region. Obviously, since I’m located in Suisun Valley, I’m biased, but the post, and the region itself, is definitely worth checking out.
